Mum and I have a habit of making gifts for each other, I have a job that pays enough that I can friviously spend all I want on myself but I can’t buy the handmade gifts regardless of price.
One year I got an AWESOME quilt from Mum (and Dad) as a gift, well, that’s happened a few times to be honest but they are all well loved and used in this household!
This year, I’m making mum something from scratch which means I need to start with a blouse block. I am on iteration 3 of this at the minute, attempt 1 had teeny tiny armholes, attempt 2 needed some work in the bust/stomach area. I am hopeful that attempt 3 will fit.

You can see all the many changes that I’ve made to the block already.
It’s a 2-dart block because that’s what I know how to make and I know how to turn this into the end product. Mum wants it to be a surprise so I need this block to be SPOT ON so I can make the end product without her trying on a toile.
I will be tracking progress and I will publish after Christmas but I don’t want to take the chance that she will see this website and see what she’s getting, you never know who’s watching!
