While the block isn’t perfect for blouses/tailored jackets, it is good enough for what I need to make her present. I did also eventually give in and ask her opinion on the top.

So I now have a first attempt at a complete pattern ready for try on. I also have the fabric for the jacket, I had enough of the size to get the fabric, so I went on a shopping spree with mum (yes, I gave in). Rosenbergs have a regular trip to close to my parents so I took a day off work and went shopping with Mum where I told her, “take your pick” and I think she chose the most expensive one they brought with them. {facepalm} We also got some lining fabric from them as well.
